Noaa's Recreational Fishery Statistics DATA

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association's (NOAA) Recreational Fisheries Statistics Program records catch data from recreational fisheries. Their website provides descriptions and materials for each of the recreational data collection programs administered by the Fisheries Statistics Division, Office of Science & Technology, NOAA Fisheries Service. Their mission is to provide accurate, precise, and timely fisheries-dependent information for US marine waters through the coordination and administration of recreational fisheries surveys nationwide. The following data is sourced from their data base and presents a snapshot of sharks caught by the recreational fishing industry for the last 5 years on the Atlantic seaboard of the United States.

Shark Free Marinas is a sensible and positive step towards reducing these numbers.
